Wishard Announces Pre-Bid Notice for Contractors

Wishard Hospital is undertaking a major building project and is seeking out women-, minority-, and veteran-owned business to bid on the construction work. Bid package #4c has just been released and covers work in the areas of concrete, structural steel, membrane roofing system, sprayed-on fireproofing, elevators, and temporary electric. A pre-bid meeting for contractors will be held on August 4 at 1 p.m. at the Madame Walker Urban Life Center, Grand Ballroom, at 617 Indiana Avenue. This will be followed by a scope review meeting on August 12 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Riverside Community Center, 2420 Riverside Drive.  For more information, click here.

Free Workshop on Building a Winning Team

Somerset CPAs is presenting “Building a Winning Team” as the July session of their Practical MBA program. This free session covers how to build a business culture that encourages teamwork and the leadership skills needed to keep a team running effectively. The session will be held on Wednesday, July 28 from 8 -- 10 a.m. at the Somerset Conference Center at 3925 River Crossing Parkway. Important Health Care Tax Credit Information for Small Businesses

Karen Mills, Administrator, US Small Business Administration, has written an open letter to small business owners across the United States explaining immediate benefits available to small businesses as part of the Affordable Care Act. The most immediate benefit you should know about is the tax credit to help you pay for up to 35 percent of your employee premiums starting this tax year. An estimated 4 million small businesses may qualify for these tax credits, totaling about $40 billion over the next 10 years. To learn more, click here.
